Work Description:
• Provide O/S and hardware support for MS Windows servers
+ Server admins are assigned designated sites/servers as their primary
responsibility; but admins are also responsible for assisting other
admins in the support of servers not assigned directly to them
• Resolve server O/S and hardware-related PMTS (problem/break-fix) tickets
• Prepare and/or implement server O/S and hardware-related CMTS (change) tickets
+ Communicate changes to local Area Services contact(s) for the site
• Review Engineering-proposed server changes to ensure plans are
adequate and all concerns have been addressed prior to implementation.
• Perform new server builds and associated decommissioning of older model servers
+ Work jointly with local resources to procure, deliver, and install new server hardware
+ Load server O/S & configure server w/accessories, e.g. patches, hot-fixes, anti-virus software, etc.
• Work in shifts (AM or PM) during the week and occasionally during weekends (rotation is used to keep work-life balance).
Primary skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S (NT4, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008)
• Basic knowledge about key system software in use (Backup software, Antivirus, SMS, Windows Active Directory, etc.)
• Advanced English Level

• Dell & HP server hardware configurations & peripherals
Server remote support tools (HP: RILOE, Dell: D-RAC)
