EMEA TAX PLANNING DIRECTOR

The Regional Tax Group is a key part of Oracle's world-class organisation within EMEA. This progressive and innovative team comprises a dynamic group of professionals responsible for Oracle's tax compliance, VAT, Customs, M&A integration, tax planning, transfer pricing and tax audits within the region as well as reporting to Corporate Tax and liaising with other functions in the region.

Based in Oracle's Reading or Dublin office, reporting to Senior Director EMEA Tax for tax planning, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and oversight of tax planning and integrations within EMEA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support tax planning initiatives including analysis of tax costs / tax benefits of various transactions
Research and draft memoranda regarding complex tax issues
Provide technical tax support on transactions and activities including the dissolution of entities
Work with treasury and finance in relation to dividend, capitalisation and debt issues
Work with lines of business personnel to identify and implement changes to the business model to achieve operational efficiencies while maintaining an efficient tax structure, including the formation of new subsidiaries, branch registration and advising on permanent establishment issues
Managing the taxation aspects of integrations within EMEA. This will include working with Corporate Tax and external advisors to determine the EMEA tax integration steps of global integrations
Managing and overseeing implementation of steps from a tax perspective
Liaising with other functions (e.g. legal, finance, HR, facilities etc.) to ensure that tax integrations are part of a coordinated integration process among the various functions
Assisting Corporate Tax with due diligence
Keeping abreast of changes to European taxation laws which could significantly impact Oracle

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified taxation professional and / or has a relevant accounting qualification
5 to 7 years relevant tax experience – ideally at Big 4 or multinational corporation
Tax planning / integrations experience is preferred
International tax experience is beneficial, including knowledge of tax considerations related to multi-jurisdictional integrations
Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
Highly motivated, productive, able to work with internal legal, human resources, facilities, business representatives and local external advisors – may involve working with teams in different countries and in different time zones
Able to work alone
Travel may be required
